Elders see the younger generations as eyesores because of their overly 'westernised' (wild/ care free) behaviour and poor moral's. Whilst the youngsters on the other hand, have no time for their elders, who to them seem belong in a museum. Sadly, this is a growing global phenomenon. It is the director's intent to tell this tale in a witty, comical manner and in doing so, hoping that this little slice of life will touch the audiences' heart.

Returning home with his father after a shopping expedition, Wong Fei-Hong is unwittingly caught up in the battle between foreigners who wish to export ancient Chinese artifacts and loyalists who don't want the pieces to leave the country. Fei-Hong has learned a style of fighting called "Drunken Boxing", which makes him a dangerous person to cross. Unfortunately, his father is opposed to his engaging in any kind of fighting, let alone drunken boxing. Yeh Fenfen is a rich Chinese girl, who comes from China's Shanxi Province to see the islet that she inherited from her deceased parents. The two get off on the wrong foot when they first meet, but gradually they overcome their differences and fall in love. Meanwhile, external problems put their newly found love on trial.

This story is the tale of two brothers: one a successful counterfeiter and the younger a fledgling graduate of the HK police academy. The plot revolves around the split when the younger brother learns the other is a criminal and the efforts of the criminal brother to reform. A prince of the Sung Dynasty has been taken prisoner by Ching invaders and is being held in an impenetrable fortress by elite men of the Ching. A group of fighters loyal to the Sung set out on a treacherous journey to the fortress in order to free the prince. This martial arts spectacular showcases 20-year-old Erh Tung-sheng (a.k.a. Derek Yee). Even Variety noted: "Erh's charismatic screen presence should take him to superstardom like his older brother, David Chiang." The prediction proved correct, and his performance as ace swordsman Third Master is just what any producer would want. He fights evil, saves damsels in distress (including a kindhearted prostitute played by Chow Yun-fat's first wife, Yu An-an), and duels rival swordsmen to the, well, death.
